p.1 #1 · D70 Problem(s)

It's been a pretty long while now since my D70 started acting up. I had spend some 4 hours in the field shooting deer pics and herons and the like when on my last few shots I couldn't seem to get anything in focus. Thinking it was probably my eyes due to hunger I went home and got dinner ready. The next day (I sometimes take days to actually check my pics) I checked my pics which were all in focus, nothing out of the ordinary. When I put my macro lens on to go into the garden and did some test shots again my viewfinder was a blur, not by much but just enough to get no good shots on manual focus, autofocus gave sharp pics but my viewfinder was blurry.
So, the problem, my viewfinder is slightly out of focus making manually focussing imposible. Any idea what's wrong ? I tried cleaning everything and checked for dirt inside my camera but found nothing.

Not so much a Nikon or D70 problem but a lens problem is next. I've never had any servicing done on lenses so I'm pretty clueless. How do I go about getting my Sigma 50-500 checked out ?, cos it has sucked all kinds of nasty in and just peeking into the detached lens is scary, so much dust
Also the Nikon mount on the lens keeps unscrewing itself. Two of the 4 screws that attach the mount to the lensbody keep losening, causing a wobble that throws focus off slightly.
I'm in The Netherlands and last I checked the Sigma website for my region is updating/under construction. Do I phone, email, write ?

Thanks for reading, hope I make sense.

Try adjusting your viewfinder focus. It's adjustable with the slider just to the right of the viewfinder. Page 27 in the manual.

As for the Sigma lens give them a call.

Am I that stupid ? Holy moly! I am that stupid!
Would you believe I never ever noticed the adjusting switch!? Cleaned the thing inside-out and never saw...maybe I do need glasses, thanks!

Glad you found your focus problem .. I do like my D70 .. s too.

I sent my Bigma in a few months ago .. wouldn.t focus at 500mm .. kept wanting to creep trying to focus .. well i called Sigma to see how the repair was going and the tech said they could find nothing wrong .. so I told them what to look for .. well, they verified it and then needed some part and it had to come from JAPAN .. so it did take some time to repair it !! They didn.t charge me for the part, and even though I am not the original owner, they did the repair for free !! I.m pretty happy with Sigma !!
