Since there are a couple of questions I thought I'd show the original image and briefly show what I did to get to the final look:

After some straightening, levels etc, this is what I originally meant to submit

I didn't quite like it though so I tried a number of b/w conversions, large radius USM etc but didn't like any of it much either

Finally I tried more radical b/w settings in the Fred Miranda plugin BW Workflow Pro (no, I'm not getting paid to say this ). I used the fact that the doors are blue and the rest of the image is pretty colorless, used a blue filter conversion, boosted the blue channel and went the other way with the red and green, and this gave the impression of light in the doors and darkness outside. Then I adjusted levels and contrast for the final look which I felt is more interesting than any of the other versions. Hopefully revealing this won't destroy the illusion or make you feel this is too much PS trickery.
