This only applies to a 1-series camera. The 20D doesn't have a readable counter

That's correct. Sorry, I thought we were talking about shutter count on 1D2.

Is there anyway to check the counts on a 20D?

p.2 #3 · Shutter Count on 1dmkII

A friend pointed me to this thread....
I was asking how to get an actuation count using
MAC OSX with PSCS1... I have a Canon 1D and 1DmkII
I have followed the thread and ExifReader and CanCount only work for Windows.
I got it that I need a.jpg straight from the camera
If there is a MAC reader or a way to use PSCS1
I would appreciate anyone that could fill me in...

In gratitude,
Nelcha

I use ExifViewer for Mac OSX 10.4.8 and found the count to match other programs. It's a free download. Just do a Google search on it.
Ron

PS: It only works with series 1 bodies.

The newer version of CanCount (1.3) works on Mac as well.

Please support the author of Cancount. The program only costs 9.95 Euros. That's roughly $12 USD.

Hi EaglePower....
Thanks for the mention of ExifViewer....
I went there but they said no mention of being MAC compatible...
I am using OSX 10.2.8 .....we you using the Intel MAC with a PC emulater?
Also, others mentions that it was possible to get the actuation count in PSCS?
Can anyone tell me how to do that as I already have paid for that program?
PSCS1 first please....
and then later I hope to install PSCS2 , so if you have that info it would be appreciated also.

Muchas Gracias in advance,
Nelcha

It simply shows up when you open your files. At least that's how it works for me.

OK, Rich....I've got PSCS open and am looking at the Metadata for the file.
Is it somewhere in there?? Or where am I supposed to look?
Are we talking Preview or after Raw conversion
I'm online and waiting

It is automatically numbered in every file I open. I think if you haven't got your settings to numerically count then it won't happen. Take a look & see. I'm not familiar with 1 Series so my apology that I didn't notice the body type.

It does only work with jpg files, but it does work with any version of OSX. I am usng 10.4.8 with no issues.

Looks like a file number to me, but again not being familiar with the 1Series bodies I cannot be sure. I found an old thread at prophotohome:

http://www.prophotohome.com/forum/canon-1-series-digital-slr-eos-5d/15774-file-numbering-systems-multiple-1d-bodies.html

If you can spark a new post there you might get some very intelligent responses. You'll probably have to register though. Let us know.
