Hi Chris, I'm off to Orlando Wednesday, going up to SC and back down to Melbourne Beach Florida, spending 17 days in total on the east coast.
I asked this question a while back. I was given these two shops in Orlando.

Colonial Photo and Hobby
634 North Mills Avenue
Phone: 407-841-1485

Harmon Photo
Phone: 407-898-2321

Best of luck Phil.

I suggest that you go to Sebastian Inlet while you are in Melbourne Beach. It is about 20 miles south on A1A. Lots of pelicans, boats and other "photographable" things...I live about 15 miles south of the inlet myself and go there occasionally just for that reason.

Chris,

There are two local shops in town that cater to "real" photographers. They are

Colonial Photo and Hobby
634 North Mills Ave.
Orlando, FL 32803
407-841-1485
800-841-1485

Harmon Photo
1323 North Orange Ave.
Orlando, FL 32804
(407) 898-2321

The prices are higher that B&H, Adorama, etc., but the guys are at both places are nice and very knowledgable. Colonial Photo carries a larger stock, but always call ahead as both places are usually out of something or other.

Of course, there is a full complement of Ritz stores, including ones in Belz Factory Outlet and on Sand Lake Blvd. across from the Florida Mall.

Lastly, there are quite a few "camera" stores on I Drive owned and run by guys who take their training from the typical Brooklyn Internet camera store. I avoid these guys at all costs.

I hope this helps and you enjoy your trip to our hot, humid area.
