Laugh out loud

I shot a street festival on the weekend and there was a photographer giving out his business cards to anyone walking by. I therefore took one and took a look at his website. I went to his equipment area and found that one of his cameras was a 22MP canon 1-series. WOW!

One would be a typo...11 and 22 are easy to screw up.
08 and 16 are slightly harder to mess up.

If we go based on what I can enlarge to, then I've got a 48MP 1DIIN camera

I e-mailed him as well, here is what he told me.

"Hi Allan,

Yes, you are right about those spec. of equipments. The double pixel count than the original one (i.e 16 vs 8) is because we do computer interpolation from raw, and due to the high dynamic range and super image quality from Canon 1 series bodies it is not significant to tell the difference. Of course, we use very pro software to do this job. You can compare the interpolated 1Ds file (22 MP) to Phase one’s digital back (22 MP) and you cannot tell the difference!

Wow. The editor in me is really having fits over his site... And not giggle fits either. If I had to guess, I would say that English is not his strongest skill. Always strikes me as sad when a "professional" can't take the time to have their content edited or at least proof read before showing it to their clients.

he's an engineer... what do you expect (no offense to those of you that are, but engineers do tend to gravitate towards photography... and most don't exactly have what it takes, both personality, talent, and creativity wise to cut it, ALTHOUGH SOME DO!) and this guy is no different.

Mostly true, except that engineers usually aren't morons. In addition engineers are usually anal (the best are borderline OCD) when it comes to the specifications of their gear which this guy clearly isn't. Hence in spite of his claims to be an engineer I suspect he probably isn't.
