Nice shot, I like how you use the angle and colors.
But, those things floating in the glass is distracting me somehow.

Thank You
Glad you all liked it

ninecount,
Having the specs helped me years ago when learning techniques so now I always post them for others

phannguyen702,
There not floating, they are decorations on the glass (sorry didn't have any non decorated shot glass)

EOS20,
It does have glass and colors

Ah, college memories.

Buddy did a flaming shot like this once, but forgot to blow it out first. He ended up with a beard of flame, threw the shot-glass into the sink, which burst into flames. Luckily he wasn't hurt badly, just what looked like a bad case of 5 o'clock shadow and acne. The drink and he were forever known from then on as "Flaming Durbin" after his last name.

Nice pic by the way!

Mark

Very nice entry John.

Great color. I imagine photographing a blue flame is challanging.

Parrot Head,
Thanks
It really wasn't that difficult, by using a very dark closed room (no wind or light) made it pretty simple By using a very small aperture and no wind the blue flame was kind of burnt onto the sensor The hardest part was finding the exact position for the glass next to the mirror (glass needed to be set on a wood post to bring it to the mirrors height and very small aperture to get both in focus), oh and not knocking it over when lit
