I am waiting also. They claim they have shipped it but I have not seen it yet. Will give as good a report as I can as soon as I see it.

Was that a Zeiss pinhole?

OK the LL megapixel CD came. Unfortunately the exposures and settings were all over the map (flask color space for a daylight setting??

Anyway here is an H1 25 vs 45 comparison.
Both 50 ISO, f8 1/4s

I adjusted saturation and ncontrast and tried best on wWB.

On size, the 45 is actually about at 73-74%. That's it guys, NOT a big difference linear. However, MR says look at the files.

With all that caveat, here is a side by side for the 25 and 45
you can see a difference, but how much?

Twice the price but not twice as good, methinks?

Have you had the chance to do any P25 vs P30 comparisons?

And here is what you get in terms of magnification for 100% crop (which of course isnt necessarilysame resolution due to some differences

Now 25 isISO 50 while MR did only ISO 100 for P30
all are h1 120 lens 1/4 and 1/8 sec resp and f8

[Note I do NOt believe the last test, uprezing the 25 is reasonable, but I will show it soon. Peaople who up rez are not looking for ultimate detail but satisfying demands of client. So means compromise de facto]

for those interested in uprez. i actually did a bit over, but still pretty close

to my eye evenuprez seems 'sharper' than 30 but some due to artificial broadening, hence some darkening so maybe 25 looks better.

someone had explanation why 25 could have better resolution than 30, but I forget.

For those of use that pay $30k for P25 now P30 seems agood deal. But still I stay with P25 at least for now

Yup. I'll be posting a few shots next week with the Aptus 75/Contax kit but have nothing to compare it to other than the DMR.

Still watching...am having a bit of fun freelancing for one client that has a whole Sinar based system, 54e backs and P3 cameras. Don't really like the software though, C1 is still the best in my book.

Dear David
Looking forward to your Contax/Aptus results For me it is go P45 stay P25 or look at Aptus 65/75. There is a different 'llok' to Leaf (I guess itis the different chips)

Do you ever get to the DC area? We could compare directly. If you were here Iwould try to rent the P45 for weekend (or work a 'loaner' from the P45 sellers. They oud me weekly to upgrade!

regards
Victor

His reviews are generally gushing...at least until the next generation comes along. His photographic skills seem to be going down in direct proportion to the big bucks he spends on new gear. I actually liked a lot of his film work but rarely see an image on his site now that moves me.

Obviously he is making a killing with big bucks workshops (more like tour hosting) and DVD's.

I agree. His site is a bit boring now as well. It seemed to be more fun to read a few years ago.

Anyway, on the subject of digital backs, is there anyone using the Mamiya RZ67 with a back? Anyone?.....anyone?

Dear Mark
yes please let me know. I am in McLean, not too far out. Do you go to Hopkins or UMd? I do work with both (or at least some of the Med and Pharmacy school staff.)

It would be great to side by side compare the goods. I have a variety of lenses here so you could travel 'light' if that is appropriate to say for for MF

:-)
