p.1 #1 · 1D Mark II JPEG settings

OK everyone.....................I've owned the 1D Mk II for about 3 wks now. Moving up from the 20D has been interesting. The focusing speed is amazing as is the cameras ability to track in AI Servo. What I'm having a problem with is in camera processing settings. I know............I should be shooting in RAW...........which I do.......but I've been curious about the L jpeg files and in camera settings.

I have set the image compression settings for L jepeg at 10, contrast at +1, sharpness at 3 and Color Matrix at 1Standard. Well...............I'm not too happy. The results I'm getting are not as "processed" as those from the 20D.

What JPEG processing parameters have you found to be useful in camera ?

Thanks for your input.
Happy New Year

To get aggressive, push contrast to +2 and sharpness to 5.
I just have at Standard (0 and 0) and use USM in PSCS for sharpening.

If I'm feeling lazy and don't fancy a raw conversion session I would enable the Raw + L setting(always better to have a raw backup to tweek a special shot)
Jpeg quality is set to 10 for L
Paramaters are set to set 1 which is setup as
Tone curve = Standard
Sharpness = 5
Contrast = +1

Color Matrix is set to 3H-saturat.

I'd then just print of the jpegs with no processing, perhaps a little cropping.

Happy new year!
