p.1 #1 · My new D1x showed up 10 min ago!

And I am in love! This thing focuses accurately, and FAST! The viewfinder is a dream compared to everything I have shot with thus far. Buttons, not menus, to change camera settings. I am just infatuated and want to go out and shoot right now! BUT the battery is already dead :-) I knew that was an issue with the D1x so it didn't scare me. Just thought with all the D200 talk, I would say how echstatic I am to receive my new/old camera!

Congrats on the camera. The D1X is a flagship camera, and you can already see that There are some longer lasting batteries out there that 'solves' the battery problem.

Speaking of D1_ series batteries... My school got two new regular nikon stock batteries for our D1 and what a world of difference! Almost 800 shots a battery to the 25 we were getting on our old ones!!!

Have fun with the D1X, pro body cameras, fun fun fun!

so I pressed refresh to get the light that was orange on charge to refresh which was green. Does it stay green until it is done then the light moves to the charge part? Sorry for the supid question but I have left it on refresh for 2 hours and the light that was green above refresh is still green. Thanks guys!

It will take a while to empty the battery when it was not completly drained. It's finished when the light above 'end' is burning.

If the batteries are shot tho the refresh will do little to help.

I suggest getting some new batteries, off branders will be perfectly fine, infact some of the off brand ones are better than the nikon ones for a lot less money!

well it looks like the body has only fired off maybe 4559 shots, so the batteries should be cool. I am going to run them thourhg 3 refresh cycles a piece and if they are shot, abttery barn here I come :-)

I am still blown away by the quality of the images produced by the d1x, even when comparing to d2x shots - It is and will always be an awesome camera! Have fun...

Get new batteries and you will be fine. I get a good 600-800 shots on my batteries

Very interesting. Always interesting to read about the D1X.
From what I gather talking to local PJ`s who use still use this camera , It`s that well built and works that well.
They have no valid reasons to upgrade.

Congratz...
I am glad that I choose D1 series better than D100. Let my D1h go and keep D1x. Sometime, I feel sorry myself that let my D1h go.

Are you really that sorry?
Anytime you want to buy it back let me know :-) lol
Seriously you know how I feel. I think the D1h has/creates a better overall image quality.
