p.1 #1 · D50/D70 Interesting Software Question

Hi,

I am very courious about that :

Every Camera has their own Program Mode : Landscape, Portrait, Sport as D50 has Child mode.

My question is that Hardware embedded software for those mode is making ANOTHER PROCESS separete from the camera own Sharp/Contrast/Hue parametres ?

OR

They are just the combination of the current parametres. Just a pre-defined custom settings..

IF NOT this meaning that for we must use those CLOSE-UP MODE for bring out the reds and greens of flowers while adding soft focus to the background. ( This is the explanation of Close-Up Mode ) OR we must use LANDSCAPE MODE for Create sharp images with depth and highlighted plant and sky colors.

In summary I am asking if we can catch same results from our custom settings or those mode are only embedded in software for specific usage.

Any idea ?

Thank you

Onder Y.

Yes, the kiddy modes such as night portrait (i think) and sports, adjusts a number of things, including

colour mode (1a or 111a) sRGB
Tone
Sharpening
Focus mode of the camera, such as closest priority etc.
Flash settings
WB
Exposure settings (shutter speed and apature). such as shutter for sports and open apature for portrait.
and possibly more.

To my knowledge it doesnt do anything that you cant in manual mode.

I only use aperature priority or manual. I never touch nor want to touch those other modes. I do however have custom sharpening and color settings.
