Your quite right it does not mention it explicitly. I followed a link from Rob Galbraith which gives a more comprehensive set of features in this release.
Well here is a couple of comparisons. I have Camera Raw calibrated and this is basically a straight dump using the techniques that Reznick uses to process the image for each photo. One in Nikon capture and the other in CS2. I know that some will quibble that I should just do a straight dump, but for my testing it's for workflow and I wanted to see which looks best for me. I converted to we using the same action in photoshop. Just to up the ante a little I will not list until later which one is which so take your best guess.
Hallaluja!!! I am SOO SOO glad this issue is now taken care of. Finally these companies come together to fix a train wreck of a problem. A nice change of pace.
If you are listening Nikon, I applaud you for giving the power BACK to the photographer. Lets just please keep it this way in the future huh?
Jacko,
I have Nikon D70 and I have ACR 3.1. But, I don't have the corect WB when the image is opened. Should I change to "as shot" in the WB drop window?

Thanks.
As shot will be the Auto Setting in the camera at the time , or it will be a preset like sunny etc.
If you are saying that if you set the camera to cloudy (look up in your manual what the kelvin temp is for cloudy) annd ACR is reporting to you something like 5500K (basically a sunny day) then you have some weird issue, BUT.
If you are saying that ACR is reading it fine as far as cloudy=cloudy in ACR but the color still looks funky , then that is a whole different animal alltogether. Gotta understand that You are really the final arbitor of what is right or wrong in the file, are you on a calibrated rig?

So, I have to set ACR to what ever setting I used in canera. Right.
Basically they should be the same or pretty close, are you using ACR 3.2? If not please go and update your software and see if that helps. Also what firmware version are you on in the camera? This is vital information to help you , there have been at least 2 firmware updates for the camera and you just gotta have all these ducks in a row to get anywhere with these computers errrrrrr , cameras
