Nice.....I know the Peleng 8 is something that would only come out of my bag very rarely but when stopped down, how far do you go to get usable A3 images from it ??

Just curious...I can see it in my future somewhere...

Regards

Greg

I really don't understand what you mean by "how far do you go to get usable A3 images from it" but the Peleng is very sharp lens for it's price, especially when stop it down a bit...

I mean how far do you have to stop it down, f11, f14, to get the best quality images that would translate into reasonably good and non soft images.

Greg

Peleng is sharp from 5.6 to 16, I useally use f8... There seems to be a lot of defective adapters shipped with Peleng when ordered from RUfigt or KievCamera, with these defective (too thin) adapters the image is not sharp, but when used with a right adapter Peleng is very sharp, Here is a little comparison againt's 10-22 canon, there are also original RAW files there...

Very cool. It took me a few to figure out I could click on the smaller images.

Nice work and thanks for posting. The difference between 10mm and 8mm is much greater than I had imagined.

There is only one Peleng available, and it's on T2 mount. Peleng comes with a m42 adapter and you need to get a second m42 -> eos adapter to get this lense in a EOS body. You can get a Peleng from ebay, http://www.rugift.com/ or http://www.kievcamera.com/ and like a said earlyer, both Rugift nd KievCamera have been shipping defectime m42 adapters, so you need to be sure you get a correct one. the two that i know of, Jolos and KOOD adapters are working ones, and the ones that are too thin are just blank ones. With these defective ones the lense comes too close to the sensor...

Peleng doesn't work with nikon D70, or some poeple have use it, but it will propably hit the mirror if you can't mod it some how...

You can order it from kievcamera, but make sure that you get a right adapter, or buy the adapter else where. I'm sure Mike(the guy who runs kiev) has some working ones also, but those blank ones are too thin, Jolos and KOOD are working ones for sure, I have them both...

Here is a picture of the KOOD adapter that i have:

Thanks!!! That's quite a difference when you're with your back against a wall!

I've just read this Sigma 10-20 test which is also very interesting: http://www.ephotozine.com/equipment/tests/testdetail.cfm?test_id=362

the lack of "tele" of the Sigma compared to the 22mm/24mm of the Canon/Tokina can be solved with a simple crop. The lack of wide on a 12mm Tokina cannot be solved easily though.

Choices choices... the price of the Sigma is right, especially with the included lens hood.
