Looks more like one of the 70-200's.

I'm no expert though...

I cringe when I see those pictures, and then apologize to my camera for shooting paintball with it.

... with the hood reversed, too!

Doesn't do anything in that position other than just get in the way!

John, Yes the hood is reversed. I was just enjoying the sunset from our balcony and my wife came out of our cabin to take a few quick shots with my camera. I had her Powershot in my coat pocket so I took a quick shot as well. I thought it looked pretty good.,,Gary

Didn't really get a great look at the camera other than I know it was a D series (20D/30D/40D/ect) and the lens had a red ring on it... I think it was a 17-40

OWWW...

Thanks for the future camera nightmares, GMaster1. Awesome and telling images. Its clear how hard you and your equipment work at those events.

Did the 20D survive, or was it written off? Do paintball photos pay well enough for replacement gear (or at least insurance), or is it just for the love of the game?

Thanks again for sharing those.

the 20D looks like it was done on purpose, then taken pictures of. How else could the mirror inside break?

A 1D Mk IIn with an 85mm f1.8. That's a Canon 400mm f5.6 L on the tripod with an attached Canon 1.4X.

It probably had water damage or something and would have been cheaper to buy a new one than to get it replaced, so they faked a paintball hit...
