Okay. So that's me on a field outside of Stockholm, Sweden with a EOS 10D w/ BG + 300/2.8L IS USM + 1.4x TC. Forgive the quality of the top half of the picture. It was taken with a Nikon.

Lower half of the picture obviously taken with the equipment I was using at the time.

I begun using a 17-40 and often have trouble with "slightly" tilted pictures.
That makes sense!
any reccomendations on a bubble-level? (for flash hotshoe)

Nope - no permit. I wonder - is it illegal for me to post a picture of someone I took at the beach? She was not modelling for me - I just happened to be there when she was modeling for the other photographer.

Seriously - is there any chance I can get in trouble for posting that? If so, I'll take it down.

I don't have any specific brand to recommend, but make sure it has bubbles on multiple sides, to help with landscape and/or portrait orientations.

Also - I like the green liquid type (clear plastic cube with green liquid) best, because they have two bubbles on top - one for side-to-side leveling, and one for front-to-back leveling. This is a more precise bubble level when you want to tip your camera forward or backward, but still want the horizon to be level.

I meant is that lens tripod foot custom? Looks shorter than the standard one... or is that wide angle distortion.

I know what you are talking about, I caught a glimpse of that movie on TV once a couple of months ago. That gun had a white scope on it, couuld have been L glass on that gun!
