Michael,
I am glad to see you put the review for this lens up. Alot of folks are dying for the lens like this with the digital rebel xt. If no one have seen it this thing is a tiny thing thus the nickname pancake apply. There is another pancake in the market if anyone is interested, OM 40mm F2.
Folks Michael is the only one that I know that done this test throughly to show the strengths and weakness of the lens. Thanks for sharing the information and the time.
I'm not too concerned about the image quality. The lens has a solid reputation and F8 is more or less its sweet spot. For me it's all about the compact size and lightness.
John, this is one of the most compact lens that I have seen. The Olympus also has one and with a faster f stops too, 40mm F2 pancake. I am in the process of making the adapter for this Olympus OM lens as well but the project will be a month from now. Again only FMers will have the chance to try out the Olympus OM manual lens. I bought one from Cameraquest and it was simply too much for one adapter.
When the adapter is available I will do a test comparison between the Olympic 40mm F2 versus the Zeiss 45mm F2.8 Tessar.
