This delay just makes photographers try new software...Since it works by mimicking A7RII files, Lightroom should have released a quick fix as a bandaid and then take their time updating the profile.
I wonder how many photographers just tried CaptureOne for the first time because it already supports the A7RIII and actually like it better.
Meanwhile, Iridient Developer 3.2.1 was just released and supports A7RIII files including the Pixel Shift mode.

Indeed. I've been on the brink of switching to Capture One for quite a while now and Adobe's tardiness in updating Lightroom and ACR was the catalyst for my finally making the move. After years of using LR it definitely requires an effort but I have the Rocky Nook book and Phase One has tons of webinars and tutorials that ease the transition. Given that there's a basic free version for Sony cameras plus an inexpensive upgrade to the Pro version for Sony, the unpopularity of Adobe's subscription model, and the uncertainty about how long the "Classic" version will be supported, I suspect that lots of photographers will be giving C1 a try.
