Great shot. I'm curious about exploring the narrows around this time of year, what kind of footwear did you use or what is the recommended footwear? Neoprene socks? Waders?
I was in Zion briefly a few weeks ago and the river was quite cold, I definitely did not have the right footwear for it.
Yes, I'm of the belief that the Virgin River all year is worthy of the neoprene socks and waders...not just the Fall season. I use both the socks and waters that have built in socks. So basically two layers of socks with the waders if that makes sense. I don't feel the need for water shoes, I just use rubber sandals that adjust and buckle over the toes and around the ankle. You can pick those up at Amazon. Before I purchased waders, I tried neoprene pants and that was't enough protection for me...I was cold about 3-4 hours into a day that I wished for 6-8 hours. Also, I Highly recommend trekking poles vs those wood staffs that everyone rents.
