p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Wireless Optical Flash Remote Slave Trigger - which one??

I want to trigger a SB600 and some older flash units (eg: pre-digital). remotely.

I bought an SYK-5 but it arrived damaged & I returned it. Now looking at what else to get.

Any hints appreciated

TIA
Doug

Why optical instead of radio? Do you need TTL/HSS (FP)? And do you know the sync voltages on your pre-digital flashes?

Not every hot-shoe optical slave will work with an SB-600 (e.g., http://flashzebra.com/products/0129/index.shtml will not work). There's something about the depth of the centre pin.

The Brauns work, when you can find them (eBay).

A reviewer on the B&H site said that the Dot Line Photo Slave does work with his SB-600. Since the Brauns work as well, the OP has two choices.
