Sorry, folks -- I tried to figure this out and have been spending -- wasting -- money in the process.

I have a nice Gitzo monopod. My goal was to throw the Godox S-Bracket on top with my AD200 and a 36" Octa, but 2 problems: the stud doesn't go over the largest male part of the monopod (this one is 1/4" so this must be 3/8?) And the S-Bracket doesn't have a clean clamp on the stud...So the whole thing basically spins around and isn't secure. I needed this for a run-and-gun portrait thing for Girls on the Run, an awesome Org I help out. Any advice on fixing these two issues? Here are some pics. Thanks!

It looks to me that the stepped stud will possibly thread out of the monopod. If it does, you could put in a threaded bushing ( 3/8 to 1/4 ) and thread in a 1/4 stud. This bushing is commonly used in the photo industry and even comes with some tripod accessories. Iíve accumulated a handful over the years.

Get a standard spigot instead, the one you got now is not a good fit as you noticed, too tall and the light will not mount correctly and will be clamped on it at an angle.

Ah, that makes sense! Looks like there's a flat side to the spigot that would work well?

Yeah that will prevent it from rotating when the wind catches your modifier.
