Consider a slightly different compo and a bit more shadow detail? (And fix the three o'clock dust bunny.)

Call me crazy but I dig the lack of detail in this case. To me it just works.

I like the pushed processing for this.

I agree with Jeff, that 1st image just works. Don't ask me why, I just like looking at it. I guess its the brightness, whiteness, flying in the clouds thing. Like a Progressive Insurance commercial. I would remove the thick branch in the corner, but keep the thin delicate branch above.

Well that makes 3 of us then. I really like the high-key effect. As I first opened this, the words "damn! that's pretty nice" entered my mind. Matter of fact I think I might have said it out loud.

Losing the branches was a good move on the worked image though.

I might try to pull a little detail out in his face area.

Make that four. I LOVED the first as soon as it opened.

First is best. I love what you have done to make the sky moodier in the second, but the dark head does not work for me and first has an elegance, sans branches.
Positioning in the frame is better in the variations. Some recovery of that distant wing is needed in first version.
I'd keep playing, here, refining more. It is a keeper!
