Family photo shoot for my friends - a bit challenging due to wet grass, quickly approaching dusk and kids who would rather be elsewhere. But they were happy with the results.

You'll get more of a response if you imbed the pics instead of providing links.

Very nice set of images, especially the portraits of the boy and girl. Whatever lens you're using does a great job with the background bokeh.

Nice job. Thanks for sharing.

2-6 are great. A gray day in NC? You did well, nicely exposed, great bokeh as said. You engaged them. I have reservations about #1; I think you were trying to capture a sense of place, but I think a closer crop would have been better. I'm imaging a 5:7 or 8:10 crop, keeping the bottom where it is but pulling the top down to the top of the trees in the background. And dad looks like he's falling back.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Using Nikon 105 f1.4 on the D810 and 24-70 f2.8 on the D800.

2-4 are good solid images
6 is good but I personally would crop a bit tighter

1 - the question that came to my mind when I saw this image was: "What's the subject, the family or the tree?" From that, my recommendation is to crop in a focus on the family.

5 is "OK" but I think would benefit from more DOF. Having part of the face OOF may be a photographically neat trick, but it's hard on the eyes IMO.
