Here's a few more observations:
With the crops you provided, the one on the left was taken about 4" further away than the one on the right (assuming same crop magnifications and same 28mm focal length).
The primary lighting angles are different; the image on the left has more light from the right (right side of face brighter), while the image on the right is more uniform.
The image on the left is in sharp focus, while the image on the right is not (for both pupils and eyebrows).
