I took a series of exposures on the harvest moon and in 4 of the images I have something that I think must be dust, except it only appears on images 2-5 of a 26 photo series. The object, or artifact appears in the same area, but not exactly the same spot in the image area. I suspect dust, but maybe it's a critter of some kind? I'm posting a full image and a crop in. I think it resembles a side view of the human eye, or a space jellyfish. Do I celebrate, or sheepishly use the dust removal tool?

I'd venture or attribute it to "lens flare" as "that sort of design" is oft seen in lenses prone to exhibiting it..it comes in many variations and some lenses are more prone to it than others, for what ever reason..typical pattern though from the times I've noticed it during setup or afterwards ...light refracting off the lens barrel ....remove it and move on
