Iím surprised I didnít see any discussion on the new Olympus 1.2 PRO Lenses. Maybe I didnít look long enough on my phone though...

There haven't been many actually, there has been some talk about it in the E-M1.2 thread and the m43 pictures thread but not much more then that, usually Bobbytan starts new threads about it but this time it's your turn

They both look very interesting and finally they've made two lenses and concentrated on something I have been crying out about for a long time. Olympus knows how to make the sharpest lenses in the industry but they have done so at the expense of character and bokeh quality. (12-40F.8, 40-150F2.8, 300F4 for example).

Now they go out and design two lenses specifically for character and bokeh while possibly compromising that super duper last part of the sharpness which doesn't matter anyway. This is great imo

Now I just need to decide wether to keep the GH5 I just received, wait for more rumours on the new Panasonic "stills oriented" camera or stay with my original E-M1 for a year to come and get one or two lenses instead.

The GH5 feels great, it feels so much more modern then the E-M1, it's also a hell of a lot snappier and the viewfinder is nothing short of amazing. But in reality lenses would probably be the smarter choice... then again, one does go a long way with 12-40 and 40-150 + a few primes...

I have the 25/1.2 and IQ is amazing. Great that they exist if you donít want to run dual systems and want to claw back ISO and DOF vs FF and get amazing rendering as well.

Thinking I will add the 45 and 17 in due time as well. We'll see, but the 45 is a most interesting lens.
Like I said, trying to decide to keep GH5 or not or keep it and wait to see what Pana brings out on the 6:th of November. Or should I go the smart way and keep only my E-M1 and add lenses?

Anyway, Robin Wong already has a review up

Thanks for the review. A comparison with the Pana/Leica will be interesting. Slightly more expensive but a bit smaller...

The 17/1.2 will be interesting. IMO the m4/3 system has lacked a fast-ish 35mm eq. lens with great rendering. I tried the PL 15/1.7, but IMO it lacks some of the magic of the PL 25/1.4. I'm sure this new 17/1.2 will render beautifully. It comes at a price, size and weight, though.

All I want to know is how the 17/1.2 will behave on video C-AF on a Panasonic body.

Iím interested in the 17 1.2 as 35mm is one of my faves.

I don't have the Noct, so I already pre-ordered the 45/1.2
