BTW, those Sony lenses you spec are the line-up I'd get.

For family sessions and posed work I shoot 99% prime, and could for weddings If it was the only thing available.

For me, the versatility of a good mid-zoom makes post processing go that much faster for observational coverage. Crop-on-the-fly. Since the 24-70L II doesn't give up anything optically there's no reason not to shoot with one. Even with a heavy roller of lenses, the 24-70 and 135 end up being the tools used for 80% of our delivered images.

Maybe I could transition to mostly a 25/85 shooter it would be a novel challenge. Certainly, many have risen to harder obstacles.

Changing topics, did the A7R2 have an mRAW option? Anyone know that status on the R3?

My head spins from all the names mk1 mk1.5 mk2 r2d2 r2d3.... seems like there were more camera models made in this decade than entire last century.

A7R2 definitely doesn't. Given that they haven't mentioned anything about it, I would guess the A7R3 doesn't either.

Sony have so many features built into their camera such as IBIS, eye AF, etc, but missing mRAW that most camera have. If they have this, people wouldn't wait for A7III for lower Mpx.

That is a drag and probably the reason why most Sony shooters I meet have a a7R and an a7S. Your mRAW is in this camera over here.

At least Sony doesn't offer it. Canon offers it, but you don't want to use it sort of a tease. Let's hope the others pick up on Nikon's lead.

Is it confirmed the D850 has a genuine honest mRAW?

Would my wrists notice the difference?

5D4 + 24-70LII = 1695 grams
A7R3 + 24-70G = 1543 grams

This includes the battery weights. Difference is 152g - or the Canon system ~ 10% heavier. Agreed that with that weight difference I'd take the Canon ergo's over the Sony ones. Of course there are many other differences between the systems what would matter more or less to each individual.
