Looking for the best way to carry a 7d mk ii on 70-200 2.8 at concerts and events.... What do you prefer?

I just sling it over my shoulder or around my neck. Are you worried about the weight of the lens on the lens mount? Don't, it's not an issue.

Another option is to use a hand strap, especially if you use the grip. A good hand strap and I can easily walk around with the camera/lens held by my right hand.

Domke gripper strap, hanging off my shoulder. My other shoulder would probably have another camera with 16-35/4L IS, 24-70/4L IS, or 300/2.8L IS, depending.

Agree with Mark. The paranoia about lenses dangling from the mount is far greater than it needs to be. I've had a 70-200 F2.8 II and a 100-400 II hanging from the lens mount for years without any issues.

The OP said nothing to suggest that mount strength is a concern.

hand strap works great, allows me to not have to grip as hard with that lens attached.

When I'm walking around shooting, its just a wrist strap and handheld. When taking a break from shooting, it's the ThinkTank belt with a digital Holster to fit the camera. I've never used a neckstrap, in any situation.

Many times, if i'm not using it on tripod/monopod, I'll turn the tripod mount around so it's on top of the lens and this provides a nice place to hold onto it to give my back/neck a break for a few minutes. Other than that though, i just treat it normally.

For a long time I just used the neck camera strap on the body, letting the whole combo hang down on my side from the shoulder. When moving around, often I would carry my 70-200mm with the tripod ring upside down as described above. Usually camera body facing forward, to minimize anything hitting the lens.

The past couple of years I have a CarrySpeed strap with its slightly offset plate on the tripod ring. I use that shooting with a second body of a 5D/24-70mm on a regular neck strap.

I like the Black Rapid slings. Strong and trustworthy, but a little overpriced.

I've used it on the 1D series bodies, the 5D II, III and IV. I either sling it over one shoulder by the camera strap pointed backwards so it is protected by my arm, or around my neck when I'm shooting games. I often wrap the camera strap around my wrist when working for extra security.

It takes a little while to get used to the weight, but this is such a key lens I simply cannot do without it.

I like Camdapter and I use their hand strap as well.

The mash clips will never let go and they have a fabric cover to prevent from scratching.

I use RRS clamps for quick install and removal. They never come loose and have stops if they do.

I did dot need the adapters as I had the RRS stuff so the no pro is less expensive.
