This group of slime moulds have large concentration of calcium in the outer layers of their spore capsules, forming a white crust. When this cracks open at maturity, revealing he dark brown spores inside, the appearance resembles a sugar-coated chocolate treat. When the spores have gone they look more like dried flowers.
I think this is a different species from a similar one whose images I posted recently.
