What a beautiful array of birds and I wish we had such variety in the Mid-Atlantic.

By contrast, we do have boring birds! It was so cool seeing all the bright colors!

Excellent variety. You might want to crop the make the compositions more interesting. Exposure and sharpness are spot on

They're all crops, mostly quite significant. I'm open to suggestions, since I'm no expert.

As you cropped a lot, then you should have room to do the following:
- Avoid the subject in the center of the frame as the viewer's eyes spend the least time there
- Give the subject more space in the direction they are looking
- When there are diagonals related to your subject, if you can have them come from a corner it will lead the viewers eyes to your subject

I hope this helps,

Morris

Great set of shots.......you were obviously having fun! I have never figured out how a bird like the barbet that is so potentially pretty could end up looking so scruffy. I have never seen a "neat" one. We chased rollers every morning in Masai Mara back in August, and I agree that they are simply gorgeous. Did you notice that, unlike nearly all other birds, they generally take off in ANY direction except into the wind?

Post some more when you have time.

Funny!

LBRs were everywhere, and yet it was incredibly difficult to catch them in flight! They're small birds (so you have to be fairly close to get a meaningful view of them), and they fly really fast, in random vectors.

And, yes, we were having an incredible time! We had no particular expectations, and just enjoyed everything!

Lots more to follow; even more birds!
