p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · First few from Costa Rica

I just got back from Costa Rica and am starting to look through my images. What a wonderful place with so much to see and photograph. These are a couple from the first day on the way to our hotel from the airport. C&C is always welcome.

Great set. Just goes to show the huge bird diversity in CR as I never saw any of those species last year.

Where exactly in Costa Rica did you photograph the Double-striped Thick-knee? It is something I have not come across in my trips to Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is a fantastic country and my favorite place in the world to visit. When a country lacks an army and provide free education and free medical care and social security for ALL of its people it is more than remarkable, but enviable as an American.

Nice set, the first is a bit centered for my taste. The second and last are super

The thick-knees were in the ag fields between the Liberia airport and Tenorio National Park. They don't seem to be too scarce. I see them regularly around Jaco as well.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I agree with you Morris, it is more centered than I would have liked as well but I was so close to the bird I didn't have room to crop the way I would have preferred and there was so much going on I got distracted by something else before I had a chance to back up for a better shot. Oh well, Brown-crested Flycatchers were pretty common and I got some better shots later in the trip.

Here are a few more from the first day:

Limpkin (they were a little shy, I think they thought we were going to try to take their snail!)
