After reading the initial reviews and checking the sample images, are you getting it at $1,059?

Is it just me that thinks that's an odd price? They couldn't make it $999?

It's the exact same price as their CV 65/2 APO Macro.

If you could do a coma test that would be awesome!

I will test both for coma. I'm most interested in comparing OOF rending between them. I already know the CV 35/1.7 won't have any onion pattern in specular highlights.

I'm curious how they compare at infinity as well. The CV 35/1.7 is super sharp at center but it needs the 5m PCX on the Sony sensor for the corners.

David's review has given me pause . . . I'll wait it out for Fred's comparison. In the meantime, the 65/2 APO is becoming more attractive . . .

I've been using it unfiltered for the last year, and it's still an awesome lens. The bokeh is good for a wide. Janick has the cv 35 coma test on Phillip's site.

The 65 is a little miracle. Well, a fat heavy miracle. But itís an almost perfect lens. Just buy it. The only bad thing is you will wish your other lenses were like this.

The company knows it too: They wrote that it "rates as one of the finest in the history of Voigtlšnder."
I hope they just started a new classic line for the E-mount and other APO-Lanthar lenses will follow.

For once they understate. Itís easily the best Voigtlšnder. And I have used the 125....

On top of that, it seems to be an optical design that yields low variability which is crucial for the success of a lens.
