For one thing, 135mm. isn't a focal length that can take much advantage of a short registry distance. Maybe I'm wrong, but I have yet to see a 135mm.lens with rear elements so close to the focal plane that they won't clear a SLR mirror, so the optics of their 135/2 MF might be already adequate, unless this design is unsuitable for on sensor PDAF
The rear element of the Zeiss Batis does not seem to clear the mirror of a DSLR, based on the drawing in the PDF datasheet. It's also the first 135mm specifically designed for Sony mirrorless.
