p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · High Key Product Photography setup

Hi,

Looking for advice on setup for a high key product photography shoot.

The product is relatively small in size (think home goods, baskets).

I have two speedlights (one Nikon and one Flashpoint) with a transmitter and a receiver and am shooting with a Nikon d750.

I am planning on getting another light stand in addition to the one I already have as well as another receiver so I can have the flashes go off at the same time with my transmitter on camera. I am planning on getting either a softbox or umbrella for both flashes. Was thinking I could angle the two flashes towards product, each on one side of my camera.

Can I produce high key product shots with this equipment?

Or do I need an additional flash to go off on the white background and give me a true white backdrop with no shadows?

Any tips would be appreciated. Thank you.

Consider one of the Foldio models by OrangeMonkie. Personally, I prefer constant lighting for product photography because it is WYSIWYG.

Lastolite also makes several products aimed at product photography (their cube, table, etc) but they are much larger and much more expensive.
