p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Focusing "Glitch" on my D500

Was using my backup body last week, D500, for some scenic shooting using the 24-70 2.8
After about 150 snaps I was unable to get the focus point in the viewfinder to change using the multi selector
Took it home, charged the battery and still having the same problem
Took a quick tour through the menus and can't find the magic bullet fix
Any suggestions on how I might make this problem go away?
Thanks,
Bob

Did you move the lock switch on the multi selector? I've done it, so I know!

+2

Or...if that does not work, take the battery out and put it back in.

Same thing happens with my D500 now and then. No problem really...at least not yet.

Guys, where is the lock switch on the multi selector?
If I moved it it was an accident

On the directional pad (not the AF joystick) there is a lever around it. Lever goes from L to a dot...you want it on the dot. I remember when this happened to me...took me awhile to figure it out. It locks the joystick even though the lever is around the directional pad.

Making a note about this. I know my D500 backwards and forwards and never noticed this.

Been there, done that many times. It seems to me that it is easier to do on the D7200 and D500 than on the D810 or D3. I don't imagine me ever wanting to use Lock AF like that.

Agree, it seems like an unnecessary button
