Ron,

Please note: "strip off repeatedly" refers to the tape. We don't want any misunderstandings!

I was in the garden the other day picking butter beans, (lima beans to you yankees ), and I felt a slight sting on my wrist. It was like a bee or wasp sting, but much less intense. So I started looking in the area where my hand had been and saw the below caterpillar .

Nice job, Ron. You captured the essence of the beast in the first image.

Hi Ron,

I don't know which is more grose, the taste of lima beans or your caterpillar subject. Nice job with the photos and the stacking.

Good find, and lucky it wasn't worse. I've only been stung (by a bee) when I was careless, and always wary of spiny caterpillars.

Getting old slows you down, maybe robots will come to our aid ...

Mark , it seems like most of your subjects have the ability of get back at you.

This particular subject is much prettier than after he's able to take flight.

Thanx Mark. Age has nothing to do with it. This fella was in the same spot after I went to the house, set up my gear for macro, and returned to the garden. AND still munchin' on the same leaf.

Thanx Mark. You are correct - the adult is a dull brown moth.
