...three years (dslr development cycle) after - OMG 46mp - Canon is going to give us what we all said we wanted.

Canon Rumors - http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=33479.0

OMG - http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1318815/0

Three years is the normal development time for a dslr and the Nikon D850 with a real battery is what everyone is looking for, so now I wait, until the the birds return.

They are finally going to do it and the only question is, How can Canon screw it up?

How many times do you want to show yourself to be wrong?

You were wrong in 2014 and are now trying to push that down to this year, and 3 years is not a normal developmental cycle, as evidenced by various model introductions, there is no defined 3 year cycle. Sony did their 46Mpx announcement in 2014, perhaps you just labeled your prediction with the wrong manufacturer?

Keep trying though, it is entertaining to say the least!

Canon needs to do something pretty drastic though, so it will be interesting to see how much and what type of innovations they might be considering.

From the prophet who said Canon would go down like Kodak did:

http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1406793/28#13988551

The new DSLR series will be film bodies. Film is the innovative future, digital photography is dead.

Unless Canon has a new batch of executives I don't think there will be anything drastic done. Since they seem to react to Nikon far more then any other company I would expect a 7D3 and 5DsRmk2 with incremental updates to at least be announced in 2018.

I almost think film is the future, my daughter is a freshman this year taking photography, and they are doing all film. She was used to digital having shot yearbook sports a prior year. She is a bit frustrated, but is ahead of the class, and the others are commenting on her pics. Makes me proud!

Perhaps Canon could introduce a "Student Pure Manual Mode" setting on their cameras so that teachers have a way to force the basics and none of the automated modes, and move away from film into digital, as they could teach substantially more than they are now with all the time in development/dark room activities? This would increase sales, and start budding photographers with Canon equipment. Seems like a marketing win!

Depending on the comma placement, the utterance yields two opposite meanings;

Ibis, redibis nunquam, in bello peribis.........very bad
Ibis, redibis, nunquam in bello peribis.........very good

Just like communicators on Star Trek and the development of smart phones, the new modern cameras are going to be the size of a 1D series box.

You probably meant "Psychic1" as a member's ID.

Obviously, there are differences between the meanings of "psychic" and "psychotic", which I assume you are reasonably familiar with.

"Psychedelic" might perhaps be more appropriate given the prediction accuracy

Sounds like the D850 came too late for Nikon... or did you predict this?

Remember, Canon Rumors made the report; I just happened to notice it is three years after the 41 page thread where many thought a high MP full frame pro body was a great idea and then Canon released a 5DSR, which is not a pro camera.

So, did Canon listen to the posters to that old thread?

OMG, OMG, OMG

More pixels, less FPS, more high ISO noise.....not a happy camera advancement direction IMO, particularly if handicapped by a luckluster AF performance and obscenely high price.

Canon camera division need to stop screwing around in the woodpile, and start thinking like seasoned photographers, and not like gadget obsessed neophytes.
