p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Filter order for landscape shooting

Hi there,

I have been using the Lee filter system for some time now and am researching new filters for the sole purpose of landscape shooting.

I see that now a lot of the filter systems (Nisi etc) are putting the Circular Polariser between the lens and the grad filters, rather than on the front like the Lee system does.

I have been trying to find out if there is any real advantage to the image quality to do this, or if its ok to leave a polariser out the front. The reason is that for speed and ease of use in the field, I have 2 Lee holders, one with the Pol attached and one without. I just pull out the holder that I need and clip it onto the lens. I don't fancy having to screw Polarisers into filter holders in the field.

Can any other landscape shooters chime in here? Is there any image quality advantages in having the pol on the lens first, such as flare or image sharpness etc?

Thanks, Scott
