Hi MedicineMan404,
I'll be checking out both the RX10 IV and FZ2500 at the PDN Expo later this month as I'm looking to upgrade from my current FZ1000.
My main concern with the Sony will be its ergonomics, I'm very much "at home" with how the Panny works as I can effortlessly change a variety of settings (aperture, shutter speed, AF/MF, etc.) without having to take my eye from the viewfinder. I'm a fan of the push-to-change wheel for aperture/shutter-speed on the FZ, conversely I detest the shutter speed thumb dial on the back of my a6300. Now, I'm not sure how Sony implemented shutter speed function on the RX10-series and I'm hoping it's not relegated to the flat dial on the back, too.
Also, I'm a fan of the FZ's AF, it's lightning quick and accurate and I'm very familiar with what it can and can't do, Sony will have to impress me more with the RX's AF than what the a6300 is currently delivering for me (read: sometimes unpredictable, when it decides to work properly it's impressive, when it doesn't the bird may or may not still be there for a retry).
Early sample images from the RX look impressive to me, perhaps a usable ISO to 6400? (think cloudy day bird IDing at 1/2000 seconds, I know you know). I'll have a couple of SD cards with me at the expo to make my own ISO comparisons.
As for competing camera functions and features, I've still got homework to do. It'll be an interesting shootout for me!

Jimmy I believe shutter will still be the flat little black dial on the upper back. No push in push out like the FZ1000 (I also have one), aperture on a ring around the lens (knurled in this 4th gen). That leaves ISO for the wheel on back (with the set button in center). So maybe a little better ergonomics over the a6300. My better-half shoots 6300 and I've got the 6500 and we're used to the vagaries of Sony (I started on a NEX-5, still have it
Usable 6400 ISO, wouldn't that be a dream! from a 1 inch sensor.....not holding my breath but Cameralab's Gordon Lange I think showed some shots at 6400 and they were fine.....in his review I did notice sharp BIF shots but little feather detail. Sometimes I do wonder why I live where I do weather wise and animal wise. Familiarity I suppose.
We are scheduled for Conowingo in November and I plan to take the 10iv for fun and experimentation. I do plan to be pleasantly surprise by it.
