This image rocks! The colors! I really like the photographer in this one. Everything just works. Well done.

You wouldn’t want to be, anymore — not only are all the trails closed until spring due to fire damage, but pretty much everything there has been burned to a crisp. No greens there anymore, just browns and blacks.

Nice image Gary.
We were there for the eclipse, just a couple weeks before the fire.

On the note that the river gorge burned... I have always found burnt landscape to have an alluring element that I can't quite put my finger on. I remember passing by burnt sections of the everglades and all I wanted to do was stop and start a walk out towards the area.. In the glades though I am afraid to start trudging through the muck though. Never know whats lurking. I think a burnt surrounding with a waterfall happening would be surprising awesome to look at. For the above, Great image and I really like seeing the photog getting the shot with so much awesome happening around him. Thanks for sharing.

Wow - good timing on your part. I will be in the area again next spring and am afraid of what I will see.

Thanks Charlie. Yes, there can be beauty in everything. I'm sure we will see a few images with impact which show burnt landscape and a beautiful waterfall. Appreciate the comment about including the human element. I know these kind of images are not the most popular but it really puts me in the place of the photographer and brings back many great memories of my workshop.

And it looks like I may need to drop the saturation even more. The foliage is so lush and the polarizer really makes things pop.
