Has been a while since I've posted any images here, so happy to share some images from a new dance series I shot with Lore Pryszo from the Lyon Opera.

So much to like about this series, Mark! Color contrasts (blue and red); textures; stopped motion; poses. One thing I noticed is the contrast in scale, the tiny dancer and the huge door.

Many thanks !

I shot this series using 35mm, 50mm and 85mm primes if that helps bring perspective to the different images here (you can guess which ones were shot with what lens)

The dancer is fairly close to the door, so it is in scale in relation to the dancer.

PS - i thought I has quoted you earlier in my response with the different focal lengths

Here is another one shot on the wide en and which gives a better idea of perspective of the door / dancer ratio

The Church of Saint-Just in Lyon must be beautiful.

Wonderful set. You might try saturating the reds & orange while lowering the whites & luminance on blues. The added contrast should make the dancer really pop against the very large doors.

Thanks Bernie !

I did have a look at lowering luminance on the blues, but I ended up going with the more natural look as was worried might be a bit over the top

Mark, I googled the Latin phrase at the top. Probably only one church in the world has that phrase,
Machabaeis primo deinde sancto iusto (For the Maccabees first then St Just).

Wow how clever, would not have expected the name of the Church to reveal its name, but that makes sense now that you've done that !

Really strong series, but I agree with this suggestion.

Thanks In theory I would agree - and it does make things "pop" even more, but the look isn't as naturel...
