Just a few of the small things that brighten the garden and my days with their glorious colors.

As always your nits, crits and suggestions are most appreciated.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look and commenting.

I hope you find something to like from what I love to do .

Birdie, your Olympus macro images are looking better (cleaner with good sharpness, contrast, clarity, detail, color, bokeh, etc, etc) and ... dare I say it ... almost as good as or better than your macro images from your Nikon gear?

Fantastic job capturing the tiny wonders of the garden against those beautiful colors of summer, Birdie. I like your play with various perspectives, in/exclusion of background and all the wonderful detail!

A treat to view; thanks for posting.

Birdie,

Another excellent set.

I like the colour harmony between the Gulf Fritillary and the Cone Flower.

I think the third is my favorite. I agree, the color compliment between the butterfly and the flower is quite eye catching. The backlit monarch is also rather unique.

Actually, I don't think they are as clean as her previous Nikon gear ... a little murkier imo.

I am pretty sure any comparison of a Nikon D810 to an Olympus EM1 will confirm this view.

That said, Birdie is Birdie, and she simply takes great shots, regardless of the gear, in this case #5 and 8 especially

In fact, the last image is simply epic

John ... I was being somewhat facetious. Apologies if I offended anyone. These recent images Birdie took looks much cleaner with better clarity/sharpness than her earlier ones. Quite honestly I don't remember if these images are cleaner than her Nikon images, but they look pretty darn clean to me! I mean, how much cleaner can it get? For sure, the D810 will have tons more resolution (excellent for cropping) and possibly 1-2 more stops of DR.

Thanks John. I must admit I do miss my Nikon gear for several reasons, dynamic range , auto focus , and more pixels heading the list. In addition, the Nikon 200mm macro is magic and I miss it.

I might need to find another way to process the Olympus shots, as my processing really has not changed. I find the colors on Olympus having more contrast/saturation. My attempt to sometimes tone that down might be part of the issue.

Shooting with Olympus is a whole new and different ball game, and I haven't quite figured it all out . I'm not one with the camera yet. .

Will have to play with it more and see.

On a positive side, I love the Olympus 60mm macro lens and a couple of the other lens and the ability to do focus peaking . It is a wonderful feature especially for my water drop shots and still subjects.

I do miss the Nikon

Birdie

Do you miss the bulk and weight of your Nikon too?
