I visited King Mountain National Park in the SC and NC border years ago.
Taken with old Fujifilm X-100.Very quiet place to visit.

I like the image but I would like to see that bench eliminated from the picture with a crop. A good portion of the bottom can be cropped too, right up to before the trail starts. It helps isolates the trail itself better and helps show the height of the trees. Thanks for sharing.

Looks like a wonderful walk. The placement of the bench (or any such object) is a visual reminder for the viewer to image himself sitting there. Same thing goes for the path: the viewer images himself taking that walk.

So the inclusion or exclusion of the bench is really up to the photographer: what do you want the viewer to feel, think and experience?

Yep, I agree with Gordon. Eastern parks like this seem to be somewhat more civilized by nature. What I like are the fallen leaves and actually the bench (weirdly enough). You can feel fall in the air. It reminds me of places back in Illinois I would go growing up that we actually considered "getting away."

Funny, up until he or she started posting pictures I always thought Junglialoh was just a computer BOT.

Fine image junglialoh, and the path looks soooo inviting. You have beautifully captured the essence of a walk in the park on a fall day. No bells an whistles, just pure honest photography. IMHO the bench is an important element, and I would like to see it further into the frame if possible, but no biggy.
