A few New ones. First one it was pitch black outside and is a 2.35 exposure push.

Second is a 3 shot blend. love the colors and its slightly blurred due to the wind.

Third is looking north up the hudson river at bear mountain.

You should lose the borders. It doesn't improve how your photos are viewed.

Picked up this morning a used a Sigma 24-105 f/4 Art. I am cautious with used Sigma Art lenses so I spent a 2 hours calibrating the 24-105 f/4 lens with the USB hub. It is time consuming as you have 4 distances 0.45m, 0.8m, 3m and infinity and then 24, 50, 70 and 105mm FL. The lens is excellent so far and I would suggest the 24-105 f/4 Art over the 24-120 f/4G for the D850 in term of IQ and the ability to fine tune the lens.

Some shots of family and storms this afternoon The close family friends are a couple 88 and 96 years old.

has anyone heard any updates on this? I agree with him.

My guess is the difference is because of the frame rate and blackout. The D5 has a faster shutter, not only FPS but blackout/non blackout. That means the focus module gets more time to focus. WHat I am wondering is if with the grip at 9FPS, if it help to improve the focus a bit more but it will never be the same as the D5.

Peregrine Falcon flight sequence.

D850 + 400 f2.8E FL VR + 1.4x TCIII, against a hideously cloudy and dull late afternoon and cropped slightly. Bird underexposed by about 2 stops to stop sky from blowing and retouched post process.

Personally I think we need to relax somewhat. The D850 is amazing and If the 3D AF module requires a FW update, like Fuji with their continual updates, it is almost a must as manufacturers bring out new models. The electronics and testing is far more complex and there is the commercial reality of releasing models. This weekend I was using the D750 also and this camera is still amazing for the size/weight/cost and the sensor IQ/ISO performance. I just wish the D750 had no AA filter, but the D750 had issues, fixed and will continue if required, and photography goes on

Well looks like it can focus well enough on the fastest bird around. What ISO were these shot at Lance?

Most about ISO800, but the bird was underexposed by 2 stops making it ISO3200 and I also added a bit of shadow boost which could push it to ISO4000 or so.

DPR tested it with the grip and D5 battery. It made no difference. It isn't a problem that would stop me from buying the camera, I rarely use 3d tracking and the other modes seem to work beautifully.
