That’s very nice. However I think I probably would’ve used a tripod with ISO 64 and a longer exposure for very very clean image , Still that is pretty impressive for low light at that ISO

I think your images are close to the type of images I would normally take with a D850 (if I had one), and yours are well done. Thru your images, the impression I'm getting from the D850 sensor is that it is very analog in character, like slow 35mm slide film. I thought the Sony AR7R2 sensor looked like medium format film, but the D850 is different. It seems to continue the Nikon family resemblance to the Dx series, but a lot more detail. Maybe looking like MF film isn't relevant anymore.

Thanks Todd I totally agree. I always try to use 64 ISO but I am often adverse to setting up a tripod for a quick grab shot when I see an image. I often revisit and then set up the shot with a tripod. Recently I have been using the SB 5000's with umbrella and box as this still maintains 64 ISO and with excellent control of lighting. I am finding the SB 5000's much better than the SB 910 with the D810 for exposure accuracy and control.

Thank you Pablo I agree about the character of the RAW files. Still early days and awaiting the latest Lr/PS updates. The D850 saved me a lot as I was intent on picking the Fuji GFX. MF is still very relevant as the larger sensor size will always yield better images but it is becoming to a point of diminishing returns.

I'm patiently waiting for a full frame medium format mirrorless camera in the vein of X1D and GFX at their prices prior to jumping on board.

Nice clean shot.
How is the 58 performing on the D850. With my D810 it's on and off with AF. On my D500 it's more consistent.

Thanks Chris The 58G is performing much better on the D850. The 58G has to be a good copy as the D850 is unforgiving. I ended up purchasing another 58G, fully tested copy as my previous 58G could not be properly adjusted on the D850.

Also my 20, 24, 35 and 50 Art lenses are much better on the D850. They are faster, more accurate and consistent.

The improved D850 AF features are worth the upgrade alone.

Cropped quite a bit on this one.

This file was pulled into Capture NX-D then to LR. There is a definite IQ loss when going with the DNG converter. I'm eager for the LR update to process the RAW files from there.
