p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Mould on a Mould

Ths colony was growing on the cut end of a log in a local woodland. The primary species in a Slime Mould, Stemonitis sp.. Its spore capsules are produced on these long, wire-like stems. The brown, spore-bearing parts seem to have been shrivelled, perhaps by some effect of the presence of its parasite. The white areas are a fungal mould.

The strange background in the inside of my camera bag.

EM-1, Olympus 4/3 x2 TC, Olympus 4/3 f2 50mm macro f16, twin flash

The stereo is crosseye.

Amazing! Looks like they could take off walking on those stems.
