There's the Sigma 135/1.8 that slays every other lens in the range for IQ. Just sayin'.

Would love to know the tilt and shift specs on all three of these. The photos of the 90 and 135 suggest +/- 15deg of tilt?! Or does that look more like +/- 10deg?

Looks like +/- 10deg to me. The TSE 24mm II & 90mm scales goe to 8deg so 10deg sounds reasonable as an improvement.

BTW, the spec in the manual for the TSE 24mm II says +/- 8.5deg.

It would be if this time around these new lenses will report the tilt, shift and rotation settings in the EXIF data. I know , wishful thinking!

I just pulled my trusty 90 TSE from the bag and compared it to the new version photo. Certainly the new version has more tilt. The old version goes to 8 degrees and the new version goes at least two degrees beyond that, but it actually looks as if it could go to 15 degrees. That would be something really good. I wish I knew where the family protractor was hiding.

It is the longer lenses which can really use the extra tilt. I find my self rarely using more than 2 or 3 degrees with the 17 and 24. When I first started using the TSE lenses I way over-tilted the wideangle lenses and learned quickly a little tilt goes a long ways in depth of field. But I found my self often wanting more tilt with the 90, even more so when using the 1.4x on the 90.

Pictures of the TSE 50mm on Canon Watch Here.

Also more pictures of the other lenses. I see that the 135mm looks like it tilts to 10deg and shifts to 12mm.

Cool, thanks for that. Images confirm independent rotation on the 135 and there's a seam that suggests it on the 50 and 90.

Independent tilt and shift axes is a very significant upgrade.

The 135/4 T/S sounds like a very cool macro lens.

i wonder if the 50mm f2.5 macro's life size adaptor will work with the T/S 50mm macro? now that would be sweet and T/S to boot.....

Yep. I think my thinking around this feature, however, is more that it would be super disappointing if it wasn't there.

Great lenses that Canon announced.

Personally, I find the 50mm TS/E the most interesting of them as a potential replacement of the 45mm TS/E. The 45 is a great lens, but IQ-wise it is the weakest from the current TS/E's (sharpness when shifted, CA and distortion). I had hoped for a wider lens although, a 35mm or 40mm would have been perfect for me as a companion for the 17 TS/E. The weight of the new 50 is another issue of course. Nonetheless, I'm tempted...

The new 90 TS/E might be a good upgrade for the older one, especially with the independent tilt/shift mechanism. Regarding IQ, I don't see much room for improvement versus the current 90 which leaves nothing to be desired for me.

The 85 f1.4 IS is interesting, too. I like that is has IS and I assume that it handles CAs wide open much better than the ageing 85 f1.2 on the 5Ds. On the other hand, for portraits, I don't believe that the rendering (especially the great bokeh wide open) of the new one will make the old one obsolete. I'm looking forward for samples from the new lens for better judgement.

I'll pre order one. Wish it was a 180 f4

The 85mm f1.4L IS will slay the 85mm f1.2's autofocus.

More than just "cool", because then it would be possible for software to auto-correct for vignetting when shifted. Having to do this manually is a nuisance with the 24mm TS-E II. I assume the vignetting when shifted won't be as bad on the longer lenses, but still.

Highly interested in that 50 TSE. It will be great for table-top commercial and still life.

Not so wishful. That was rumored in Keith site one or two years ago. I just have found a related Keith post:

I'm actually concerned about the 85mm f/1.4 IS having no UD/SuperUD/Fluorite nor Blue Refractive lens elements. I wonder how good the correction of chromatic aberration will be.
