I need to strap my tripod to a bicycle rear rack. Will likely use bungees for straps. Will pack the tripod in a carry on so I don't want a proper RRS tripod bag which would be way too bulky. Also, I want it to look inexpensive. Many of the cheap, minimally padded flimsy tripod cases (which would suit this purpose fine) appear way to long for the small tripod.

Acratech GP-SS ballhead will be attached to tripod making it a few inches longer than the tripod itself.

Anybody find a solution for a situation like this? Thanks.

Hmm... perhaps I overthought this one! That is a good idea. I could put a section of blue foam sleeping mat material on top of the rack for some cheap padding. Thanks. Now I need to look for just the right trash bag.

I don't live in Oregon. Those are somewhat hard to come by!
