Ok, so I am soooo not someone who knew what they were doing. Filter was a 25.00 deal from B & H. But here is what I got. Loved this experience and would love to see shots gotten by others.

Thanks, Mitish. Mine too. It was just so beautiful. The pics do not do it justice. No where near capturing that beautiful white glow.

I did one but I didn't change my settings on my camera so it's not great. It got pretty dark, cooled off dramatically and the crickets started chirping and birds stopped chirping. It was wonderful. I didn't want to waste any of the 2 minutes so just swung around and shot the landscape which looked like sunset. Yes, very lucky to be this close. We drove about an hour and a half to get away from cloud cover. In the end, we had a clear view all the way thru.

Ah, man, I think I need a sensor clean. Spots on the sun. Time for Photoshop.
Bummer.

There were sun spots on the sun. 3 to the right and 2 on the left side. They are natural and not a sensor issue.

Mine are noisy. Probably due to inexperience shooting the sun and trying to add too many whites in post plus sharpening overload. I need to go back and tame these down.

When I down sized mine it ate the exif data

Great shots, Kathy. We got to about your first shot, and the moon was eclipsed by a cloud. But I'll be back in 2024!

So sorry to hear that. Our daughter in Kansas City missed it due to clouds too. We changed our path based on the weather reports and were rewarded with a super clear view. All luck however, we were discussing on the way how it was just a toss of the coin.

My series, FWIW, before so mean cloud decided to encroach on the event.
Posted from JPGs, the RAW files are on the desktop but I'm entertaining so JPG on the laptop is it.

Not in a position for the totality ... went a different route to try and emulate an "eye in the sky".

Wonderful pictures Kathy! Was the image with the corona converted to black and white? I have viewed quite a few of the images of the full eclipse with the corona and they all seem to be black and white.

In NE Georgia, the corona was a beautiful blueish/grayish color.

It was one of the most amazing visual experiences I have ever had.

Might be chasing the next one in the Midwest in 2024.

About 30 minutes before totality we had some clouds start to move in but they completely dissipated shortly after and we had clear skies. But there were varying levels of cloud cover in the area. Guess we lucked out.

Here's my capture, I have partial eclipse photos also with the special filter. The shot with the total eclipse (without any filter) did it for me. The sky was slightly handicapped with a high, slightly overcast/cloudy sky.

Thank you, and no, it wasn't converted at all. It is pretty much as shot. A little sharpening since I shot raw. Here, it was a beautiful almost ethereal white glow. An amazing experience. I will also be looking forward to the 2004. Hope I'm still around to experience it again.
