The sphere on the right is a coccoon of a Pirate Spider. The silk strands forming a net around it normally have a metallic, coppery colour. The whole thing would normally dangle on a tiny rope made from strands of that silk.
Such cocoons swing about in the very slightest air movement. Here, it has been immobilised by the netting formed for the spore-supporting structures expanding from inside a slime mould spore capsule. The slime mould (Myxomycete) is an Arcyria species.
This was all on the underside of rotton wood (apple?) in my garden.
