Tethering in Lightroom

p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Tethering in Lightroom

Hello. maybe someone here can give me a definitive answer to my question. I didn't have much luck looking through the Adobe website. I went to tether my camera to Lightroom and got the no camera detected message. I previously haven't had any problems but it has been a while since I've used it. I tried another camera and cable with the same result. I tried my D800 and my D4. I'm running Lightroom 5.7 on a Macbook Pro with IOS 10.11. My question is, do I need to upgrade to Lightroom 6 to get this to work again? I'm torn between upgrading to the standalone version or the cloud version. I have CS6 and it does everything I need so I'm not sure the cloud is worth doing.

I know i was able to tether before with tis version of Lightroom. Lightroom does know my camera is attach because i can view images on a card in the camera. I tried tethering on both my laptop and my desktop Mac without success.
