p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · First Roll of Ektar Through My Fuji 6x9

Last week I had a cousin come visit me. I showed him around some of my favorite places, one of which was Rocky Mountain National Park.

Now, I always have some sort of camera with me when I go out hiking. This time I took my new (to me) Fugi G690 medium format camera. I decided to load up a roll of Ektar 100 for the hike. This is my first color roll I've shot through the camera, I've only shot 3 rolls total through it so far, all black and white.

Anyway, today I developed the roll at home using a Unicolor C41 chemical kit. I just finished scanning them in and adjusting them to my taste (mostly just some contrast adjustments).

I normally shoot in black and white, but I am definitely going to be running some more rolls of color through this camera!

Here they are.

Hey Andrew,

That's great you got to shoot some Ektar. It looks pretty good from these. The first and the third are my favorite.

Very interesting to see the results of MF film here. The first is my favorite.

CJ,
Nice series! Iwould agree w/Jim on the 1st & 3rd.
Ektar has been my goto film for landscape stuff for color & lattitude.
Have you thought about trying Cinestill 50D? I've used their 800T with good results.
Is this usinge a 65 or 100mm lens?
The rangefinder MF kits are great for hiking camera trips.
At least my Mamiya 7 fits that.
Definitely simpler/lighter than LF

Thanks for posting

Dan

There is something unique about the film look that you cant get with digital. First 2 for me. Very cool stuff.

Thanks everyone!

Dan, this was using the 100mm F3.5 lens. I've been looking for a cheap 65mm to buy as I really like wider shots on a lot of landscapes. The 65mm usually goes for a pretty penny though.

Here's a shot I took with my last frame of B&W film (Acros 100) before switching over to color. Gives you a little idea of the "feel" of the different films.

Very nice shots, i really miss film regardless i don't shoot film much anyway, but your images are really terrific.

Also nice to see your own developing color films, i only shoot B&W because i didn't want to develop colors even if it is easy to do, i just planning for a processor to make things easier.

I miss shooting with my Fuji GSW690III, this size is really nice and i like it more than 6x6 or 6x7 for landscapes, good job!
